Social Security Administration building in Ciutat Vella, Barcelona

The new building stands on an irregular plot. But because the building is used as an administrative office this irregularity is solved by dividing the volume into three pieces. The lower piece (on the ground floor) maintains the shape and form of the original plot. The main and biggest one uses a cantilever for regularizing the shape of the offices inside to be able to organize interiors flexibly.

The highest volume is also shorter and is orientated toward the see view of Barcelona’s Port.
