The square ‘Plaza Villa de Madrid’ in the old town of Barcelona is one of the firsts examples of the re-naturalization of the city considering the square as a new ‘archaeological garden’ because of one of the most important archaeological sites in Barcelona with a roman necropolis.
The difference in highs between the city level and the archaeological site level is solved with the topography of the garden. A pedestrian new bridge will allow visitors to overfly the roman ruins and understand their structure and importance.
