Forest school and sports pavilion in Platja d’Aro

The proposal for the competition for the ‘Fanals’ School and new sports hall in Platja d’Aro deserved the second prize.

The proposal understood the existing forest as the main space of the complex, turning into a place for children to play and learn. Great importance was attached to the wooded continuity between the urban fabric and the rest of the old cork forest, which climbs towards Les Gavarres. The new school and the sports hall shared an access plaza in continuity with the civic axis created by the existing public buildings, the health center, the kindergarden and the library and civic center of Can Bas.
